Inception

Clearly one of the most anticipated films of the year, Inception has not disappointed. Despite the complexity of the movie, the cast which includes the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Caine, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and others, have executed themselves to perfection.

It’s a time when there is a new method of corporate warfare – the ability of stealing ideas through the dreams of people. This is done through an extraction team, and Cobb (Leonardo) heads the most successful of such teams. In one such mission Cobb and his team need to get into Saito’s dream but things don’t go as planned and the latter instead offers Cobb a deal he just can’t refuse. By accepting the offer, Cobb’s new target is a businessman Robert Fischer Jr. What follows is a nail biting, action packed movie that is clearly not just about the amazing special effects but also the various human emotion involved in another individual’s thoughts.

The kids are all right

It’s a loving tale about a couple, Jules and Nic (Julianne Moore and Annette Bening) who are forced to bring in the sperm donor of their two children into their lives on the request of the kids. Paul (the donor) slowly begins to become part of the family and also start developing a slight attraction for Jules which ofcourse leads to trouble. Every character in this movie has been well thought-out with each character having individual issues to deal with. Lisa Cholodenko the director has stayed clear from making the sexuality of the leading ladies the focal point of the movie; instead it’s a tale about a family with its own set of .

Tere Bin Laden

Debutant director Abhishek Sharma has certainly made his mark with this movie which is pure entertainment throughout.  The story is based in Pakistan where a desperate reporter, Ali wants to migrate to America but his visa is always turned down. He comes across a travel agent who assures him an entry into America if he can procure a couple of lakhs.  Soon, Ali stumbles across an Osama lookalike and hatches up a plan of making a fake video and selling it for a lot of money to news channels. But the video brings with it various problems with the FBI getting involved as well. The script for the movie is witty and down right hilarious. Pradhuman Singh who plays Osama is awesome, while Ali Zafar as the over  reporter is equally amazing.

But things improve when he makes three new best friends in Sameer, Ankit and Rohan. What follows is a journey that most of us, in the not too distant future may have experienced during our own school days from getting into trouble with the school authorities, trying to help the not so p spying on our siblings, getting into fights with best friends etc. A good book for children keeping in mind that it’s been written by a 13 year old. Kids will relate to a lot in the book.
