Food for your pet

A puppy which is well fed and brought up on good food develops into a strong and healthy adult. Puppies are normally separated from their mothers at six to eight weeks of age and by this time they are normally taking very little if any of the mother’s milk, except for some exceptional cases that carry on suckling for four months even.
While feeding a puppy, the basic requirements should be met, such as lots of fluids which are best supplied in milk, cereals which supply the required carbohydrates, and protein rich foods such as eggs, fish or meat. Vitamin and mineral supplements should be added at correct dosage. Too less or too much food can be detrimental to the puppy’s health and well being. Most of these requirements are said to be provided by the commercial pet feeds, but if you prefer home cooked food then you should see to it that these requirements are met.

 I am a married woman residing in Jorhat and having a 7 year old child. My husband filed a divorce case before the additional judge, Hojai. Sir I have no other income than the maintenance that I get from my husband, what can I do?

There are provisions in the law that a case may be transferred from one district to other district u/s 24 of C.P.C. You being a lady, and having a 7 year old child, you cannot attend the court proceedings at Hojai from far distance, besides you have no other income than maintenance, thus you have good ground for transfer of the case. Hence you may file a transfer petition for the case before the High Court.

Amidst the long standing conflict situation in the already impoverished states of Northeast, a handful of people with vested interest are ripping huge profits from the plight of the people desperate to keep their kitchen running. Human trafficking is one such organized crime which has suddenly become a lucrative and an easy money making business in the region. Despite the effort from various organizations and individuals, child trafficking in the northeast is flourishing; there is no doubt about it. We need to know why desperate parents in the trouble torn state of Manipur are easily lured by traffickers with the promises of free and better education for their child.

21st July, brought the fashion connoisseurs and glitterati of Guwahati together to celebrate the Indian handloom. The much anticipated handloom fashion show Symphony in Weaves – The handloom Ensemble, was presented by the North East Institute of Fashion Technology (NEIFT), in collaboration with the office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textile – Govt. of India, and Directorate of Textile and Handicraft – Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.

 Yesterday I watched a poor woman and her small child go past the house. The mother, obviously a scavenger, was carrying a few empty bottles and some pieces of cardboard. The child, a young girl about three years old, was dancing while she followed her mother. She bounced and skipped as she walked and her arms flapped happily as she hummed a strange tune. When I looked closely the little child resembled her mother. Yet if one looked at their attitudes there was a sea of difference. The solemn adult and the blissfully happy child seemed to be living in two different worlds. It seemed as if the little girl had a set of invisible wings which made her soar over the wretched circumstance of her life, while the mother stayed rooted in her reality and her misery.
