Mizo CM for pure and better Mizoram

Aizawl:

Mizoram chief minister Lalthanhawla urged the Mizos to instrospect as to why so many drug addicts are there in Mizoram.  Lalthanhawla said this while gracing the 11th anniversary of Agape Home, a rehabilitation home for drugs addict in Aizawl on Tuesday.
Inspite of efforts by a number of NGOs, uses of drugs, selling and consumption of liquor (which is prohibited) is still prevalent in this Christian dominated state. 'We have to rewind our lives and see what we have contributed towards better society, better and improved Mizoram,' Lalthanhawla said.
He then alleged that Mizoram is being ruined by many anti-Christian  elements like drugs, wine, other immoral activities among the societies. 'So, the people of Mizoram need introspection and take steps to make life more moral, decent and build a better Mizoram', the chief minister advised. He also asked parents to teach their children in accordance with the Bible so that they grow up into a good and faithful Christian and lead a purest life. He also urged parents to spend more time with their children stating that parents have to dedicate more time with their children in order to create warm family life.
Agape Home was founded on July 27, 1991. Currently, the Home is working in collaboration with Kolkata-based Samaritan with 10 staffs. There are many inmates at the Home and had the credit of treating 896 drugs addicts from every corner of the state. The Home is also working closely with Mizoram State AIDS Control Society in this front. In cooperation with MSACS, Agape Home also manned Drop-in Centre, a rehabilitation centre in Aizawl.
